Whole-Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies

Course Appetizer


  • 1 1/4 c Whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 ts Baking soda
  • 1/2 ts Salt
  • 1/2 c Margarine
  • 1/2 c Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c Brown sugar
  • 1/2 ts Vanilla extract
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 Semi-sweet chocolate chips


  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a small bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat margarine, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Beat in egg. 
  • Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Roll batter into balls (about a Tablespoon each) and set 1 1/2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 9-15 min. until edges are golden brown. Makes about 15 very big cookies.
